🌷 April 2025 Favorites: what I’ve been reading, watching & loving

Hi friends,
It’s the end of April (already!), and you know what that means: time for another edition of Monthly Favorites 🌷
This month was all about slowing down a little, resetting for spring, and trying new things. Let’s dive in!
WHAT I’M READING
In April, I started reading The Five Types of Wealth by Sahil Bloom. I’m about 35% through because it’s definitely a longer read, but I’m really enjoying it anyway.
One exercise from the beginning of the book really stuck with me: creating your Life Razor—a personal principle that helps guide your decisions. Mine is: I show up even when it’s not perfect. It helps me so much right now, especially when it comes to showing up authentically in my YouTube and Instagram content.
I also finished Atomic Habits at the very beginning of this month! One of my biggest takeaways was the importance of changing your environment to support the habits you want—and making sure you’re surrounded by people for whom your desired behavior is normal.
And for a lighter read, I finished Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. McRaven—a short, inspiring book perfect if you want to build momentum again with your reading habits!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Honestly, April wasn’t a big music month for me—but I’ve been loving The Red Flags Podcast (Formula 1 fans, you NEED to check it out 🏎️💨). It’s funny, honest, and makes following F1 so much more entertaining every week.
WHAT I’M WATCHING
I haven’t been super into TV lately, but one show I highly recommend if you love The Office is St. Denis Medical—it’s filmed in the same mockumentary style, but set in a chaotic medical center.
Super light, funny, and easy to binge when you want something that doesn’t take itself too seriously!
SELF-CARE FAVORITES
If I had to pick one word for April self-care, it would be sleep. When I focus on getting real, quality rest, it improves my energy and mood so much. I track my sleep with my Oura ring.
FOOD & WELLNESS
April was definitely a bowl era for me 🥗✨
I loved creating simple, nourishing bowls at home—mixing greens, lentils, tofu, beans, broccoli...all the good stuff.
A couple favorites:
→ Vegan IKEA-style dinner: mashed potatoes, plant-based meatballs, broccoli, and cranberry sauce
→ Mushroom stroganoff with pasta and asparagus (made by my husband 💚)
I also got back into making homemade granola (so good!!) using a recipe from Pick Up Limes.
And because it’s been HOT lately where I live, I started drinking more coconut water for natural electrolytes, especially after my workouts.
TOOLS & PRODUCTIVITY
This month, I didn’t explore many new digital tools—but I did start learning how to plan my yoga practices using stick figures!
I bought the PDF guide Yoga Notes by Eva-Lotta Lamm, and it’s been such a creative, fun way to organize my yoga flows because it reminds me of how much I loved drawing and being artistic as a kid.
CONTENT I CREATED
April was the month I finally carved out time to batch-create new Instagram Reels! I filmed four Reels in one day because I’m currently building a 12-part series I’ll be posting soon. It feels so good to create content that feels intentional instead of just random daily posts.
LIFE LATELY
April has been a month of spring reflecting and resetting for me.
A few big themes that stood out:
→ Exploring the idea of islands of calmness during chaotic workdays and work weeks—small moments of meditation, stretching, or just breathing that help regulate your nervous system.
→ Letting go of the pressure to film every part of my life for social media, and focusing more on work-life balance.
→ Sitting with the reality that even though I’m proud of my new YouTube videos (titles, thumbnails, content—everything feels more me), they aren’t getting a lot of views right now. Maybe, as James Clear says, I’m just in the valley of disappointment—that quiet middle part where you’re doing the work, staying consistent, and waiting for the results to catch up. I’m trusting the process.
If you made it all the way here, thank you for reading! These monthly letters are truly my favorite to write, and it’s so special to share this part of my life with you.
Talk soon,
Veronika 🤍
