🌿 May Favorites: The new way I measure growth (in workouts, business, and life)

Hi friends,

May was a full month. And not just because of what I did, but because of how I’ve started to think differently about growth. I’m so excited to share this month’s favorites with you: things I’ve loved, tools I’ve tried, and new shifts I’m embracing in how I measure progress.

Let’s jump right in!

WHAT I’M READING

Honestly? I barely read this month and I’m okay with that. Sometimes I fly through books, and sometimes I only read 10 pages the entire month. May was the latter. Progress isn’t linear, and that’s okay.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

Afro House and Jazz House have been two of my favorite music genres lately. I’ve been loving long DJ sets on YouTube (especially this Afro House Sunset Mix | Punta del Este with a song by Lana Del Rey). There’s something magical about watching music being made.

WHAT I’M WATCHING

I went to the movie theater to watch Lilo & Stitch and completely teared up when Lilo said to Stitch: “You’re not bad. You just do bad things sometimes.”

That line hit me straight in the heart. It reminded me how powerful compassion can be, toward others, and toward ourselves. We’re all figuring things out. We all mess up. That doesn’t make us bad.

TOOLS & PRODUCTIVITY

Sennheiser MKE 600 â€“ My first professional shotgun mic! The quality is insane. It was a big spend but so worth it.

Glyde 4-in-1 Portable Charging Station â€“ I got this for my husband and now I kind of want one too. It charges your phone, Apple Watch, AirPods and acts as a power bank while traveling.

Moft MagSafe Tripod Phone Stand â€“ It’s sleek, foldable, minimal, and SO useful for content creation or just watching a video in bed.

White Ripple Case by Casetify – It’s MagSafe, it feels luxurious, and shockingly? It stays clean. I broke my first one (totally my fault), so I reordered the exact same thing. That’s how you know it’s good.

CONTENT I CREATED

This month, I bought Jillz Guerin’s YouTube Growth Masterclass, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business lately. Highly recommend it if you’re a creator.

Also, I’ve been rethinking how I approach YouTube thanks to creator Vanessa Lau’s â€śOne for You, One for Me, One for Life” framework:

→ One for You: High-performing videos optimized for search + views.
→ One for Me: Creative passion projects that refill your cup.
→ One for Life: Soulful legacy content that shares deep lessons.

This has helped me see that not every video needs to “perform” to be worth making. Some are for growth, some are for joy, and some are for meaning. And that mindset shift has changed everything for me.

LIFE LATELY

Some exciting news! I signed up for my first ever 200-hour yoga teacher training.

I’m really excited to commit to something I care about. To continue building a V-shaped life:

→ Going deep on YouTube and self-improvement.
→ Going deep into yoga (I recently bought a handstand course by a Belarusian teacher I admire).
→ Going wide in my understanding of wellness, nutrition, and movement.

And beyond metrics, I’m now measuring progress by how I feel, not how many workouts I did or how many likes I got. Because I’ve learned that depth > performance.

That’s it for May.

Talk soon,
Veronika 🤍
