The Simple Productivity Shift That’s Stopped My Procrastination

Hi friends,
I used to struggle with long, overwhelming to-do lists that made me feel guilty whenever I procrastinated on my most important tasks. My lists were packed with so many things that I’d end up avoiding the most crucial ones altogether. Sound familiar?
Recently, I tried a new approach to productivity, and it has completely changed the way I work. It’s simple, but so effective:
THE 3-TASK RULE
Instead of cramming my to-do list with endless tasks, I now only allow myself to write down three tasks per day—and that’s it. No extra tasks until these three are completed.
Each task has a priority level:
🔴 High Priority – The most important task of the day.
🟠 Medium Priority – Important, but not urgent.
🟢 Low Priority – A smaller task that still contributes to my goals.
Once I finish all three, only then do I allow myself to add more. But even if I don’t, I still feel accomplished knowing I completed my top priorities.
REDEFINING MY PRIORITIES
I’ve also started seeing my work in a vertical hierarchy instead of a horizontal one. Not everything I do is equally important, so I categorize my platforms by priority:
🪜YouTube – Always my top priority.
🪜Instagram – Medium priority, but not urgent.
🪜Newsletter – Low priority, something I do when I have time.
🪜Vlogging Channel – Currently below low priority (a creative hobby for now).
By structuring my work this way, I no longer feel the pressure to “do it all” every day. My biggest tasks get done first, and anything extra is a bonus. And the best part? I feel genuinely productive instead of just ‘busy.’
HOW THIS CHANGED MY PRODUCTIVITY
→ I actually complete my most important tasks instead of procrastinating on them.
→ I finish the day feeling accomplished, not overwhelmed.
→ I work with intention instead of just reacting to an endless to-do list.
→ I focus on what has the biggest impact on my goals.
If you feel like your to-do lists are running your life instead of helping you, try this approach and let me know how it works for you! 💌
